Ours is a head-to-head league
     Too many leagues award most of the prizes to only a few winners.  That leaves many of the coaches giving up the last two weeks of the season.  Some  don't even bother to turn in a lineup after they figure they have no chance to win.  This practice gives unfair advantage sometimes to teams that are still in the playoff race. This league consists of both offense and defense and has many categories which can make the individual prizes smaller, but more of us coaches will have a chance to win a prize(s).  There will be 40 cash prizes awarded.  That will help make this a fun league and that is what fantasy football should be about...fun!!! 
     As your commissioner, I bring 5 year's experience into the league, having participated as a coach all 5 years, 2 years as assistant commissioner, and last year as commissioner of the GC&GFFL league.

....................................    1. Weekly lineups must be received by midnight Friday except that on weeks with Thursday or Friday  game, lineup will be due by Wednesday midnight.  If no lineup is submitted by deadline, you will start the lineup from the previous week.

     2. Trades and player transactions are from 1 PM Tuesday through 2 PM Friday of each week through week 10 of the NFL season.  From 1 PM to 2 PM on Tuesdays, the fantasy team with the worst record will have first choice in the event two or more coaches want the same player.  On weeks with Thursday or Friday games, transaction deadline is Wednesday midnight.  An e-mail address will be provided for transactions. 

Free agents, trades, IR moves:
     When you acquire a new player, you must balance your roster by placing a player of the same position on waivers or on injured reserve.  Maximum injured reserve is 3 players at any one time.  Actual NFL health status is irrelevant to whom you place on IR.  There is NO fee for roster balancing; only for acquiring new players and for activating a player from IR.  Remember...early bird gets first choice except  between 1 pm and 2 pm (Pacific Time) on Tuesdays.   To make player transactions, follow this link.

    3. All entry fees must be paid for your team (either a check by mail  or an on line check) before you can draft players.  When sending your entry, state your name, team's name, your address (so you can receive your prizes).  For internet leagues, draft will be held on line in a private chat room.  The draft for the first 'A' league is tentatively scheduled for September 7,1999 at 2 am (PDT).  This is day after Labor Day and assumes the NFL season begins Sunday, September 12.  Day and time of draft is tentative and may need to be changed to accomodate a day and time when all coaches can be present, and/or to accomodate multiple leagues.  Be ready because you will have a maximum of 2 minutes to make each selection.  If draft runs too long we may have to split it into two days.

     4. Entry fee (Cheaper leagues are here.)for each team is  $200 which must be paid prior to getting a position for the draft.  You are not guaranteed a team until entry is  paid. Transaction fees are $10 per transaction.  You will be required to send in the transaction fee at the same time as you make your player transactions, which include trades and free agent acquisitions. If you do not wish to pay on line, you may send check by 'snail mail' but it needs to be received before lineup deadline.  If you elect this option is may be best to pay in advance for transactions.  All transaction fees not used will be returned at season's end.   ALL entry fees and player transaction fees will be distributed in the form of prizes as shown in table below.

     5. Official stats will be provided by Stats World Inc., and the commissioner will post them on this website along with a weekly newsletter.

     6. All coaches will provide e-mail addresses to the Commissioner who will in turn send them to the other coaches in our league so that we may negotiate trades, talk trash, etc.  E-mail addresses will NOT be posted on the web nor be given out to anyone else.

     7. Each league will consist of 10 teams (5 in each division). Each team will play every team once and divisional foes twice.  Our regular season will run from week one thru week 14 of the NFL season.  Round one of our playoffs will consist of the two best records in each of the league's two divisions and will be played in week 15.  The two winners of round one will play in our Super Bowl in week 16.    Tiebreaker order for playoff seeding:  1. division's best overall record   2. best head-to-head record  3. best record within division 4. most points scored during season.  5. most efficient coach.

     8. Recognizing the fact that many NFL teams will be resting their starters the last two weeks of the regular season, our league's two Super Bowl participants will hold a supplemental draft and may draft any player who is not claimed by our two Super Bowl participants.  This draft will be on or before Thursday, midnight, December 23,1999, at a time convienent for both coaches.

   9. Each league will have 10 teams.  Draft order will be serpentine (1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10, then in the next round, 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1) until all rosters have been filled.   The coach who committs first will have choice of when to pick, the 2nd to committ will have second choice, and so on.  A commitment is defined as full payment of entry fee.  In any league in which the commissioner plays, the commissioner will accept the last (10th) pick. 

    10. All prize money (with exception of weekly prizes, which will be paid weekly) will be distributed on Tuesday, December 28,1999.

    11.Commissioner fees:  The commissioner receives $50 to help pay for costs of running league. 

    12. During the regular season weekly games, a tie is a tie.  If a tie should occur in the division playoff, the tiebreaker goes to the team with the highest points total for the season, then to best overall regular season record, then to most points scored during season, then to most efficient coach.  If the Super Bowl should end in a tie, we will have a run-off game in NFL week 17 (new draft), and if that game should also end in a tie we will have co-champions.

    14. You may draft your team from NFL players.  You can find lists and rankings in any of the fantasy football magazines or you can use the list that the commissioner will post before the draft, on this web site.

   15. One team per coach per league.  Each coach will pick a name for his/her team prior to draft day.  Send your team's name in with your entry fees or e-mail it to the Commissioner.

16. The prize table below is based on a league with $200 entry and $10 player transactions.  If there are sufficient coaches who want to form leagues with other $$$ amounts (B league  -$100, or C league -$50 entry fees), it will be done.  Prizes will be proportional to prize table  below. We need 10 coaches per league.

    17. Anyone whose check is dishonored, in addition to other remedies, may forfeit all prizes due their team.
