Craps (Dice) Proposition Keys - Downtown

Craps dealers.  Dice dealer prop keys.  The real "Key" to paying proposition bets is to have one or two alternate keys to fall back on in case the first key is too difficult for the situation or if that rare situation occurs in which the dealer's mind goes blank.  In the 3rd column are some alternate keys that may be more useful in such situations

Hop bets pay like 11 or 12.  Figure like 11-split, 12-split, or 3-way craps.
Horn bets high side pays $27 for each $4 bet.  Low side pays $12.  Craps pays 8 for 1, and C&E is 3 times the bet if craps hits. If you memorize what a $1,$2,$3,$4,and $5 horn pays, you can pay any horn that hits.

ODDS ON THE 6 AND 8:  the bet +20%
ie...double the bet and add 10% of the answer to
                             the bet equals the payoff.
EXAPMLE:  $45 odds...45 x 2=90x10%=9   9+45=$54 for the odds payout.

Many casinos now have "3-4-5" times odds:
you can take 3x odds on the 4, 10
you can take 4x odds on the 5 and 9
you can take 5x odds on the 6 and 8
Full "3-4-5" x odds:  total payout is always equal to 7 times the flat bet.  Neat, huh?

Many casinos in Las Vegas have recently come up with a new twist to double odds.  I like to call these new odds, "Double odds on steroids".  The general formula is as follows, but there are a few certain exceptions for each casino that you will have to memorize.
The 5 or 9 can take odds at the ratio of approximately 2 2/3:1
To figure this, divide the flat bet by 3 and multiply by 8
Example:  $30 flat can take $80 odds
(30 divide by 3 = 10 times 8 = 80)
The 6 or 8 can take odds at the ratio of approximately 3 1/3:1
To figure this, divide the flat bet by 3 and multiply by 10
Example:  $30 flat bet can take $100 odds
(30 divide by 3 = 10 times 10 =100)
The 4 and 10 are unaffected.
